The
MUMC Chancel Choir is a 130-voice ensemble that is an active music ministry
at Manchester United Methodist Church in suburban St. Louis, Mo. The music
program involves more than 600 persons of all ages who sing, ring or play
an instrument to the glory of God. The program consists of 19 choral and
handbell groups including six youth choral groups, two adult choirs, five
handbell groups, small ensembles that include adult and youth praise teams,
a select choir, a gospel quartet, a women's ensemble, a brass choir, and
a small string ensemble.
In addition to Sunday
morning worship, the Chancel Choir presents a schedule of concerts each
year and regularly tours to cities in the midwest. It has performed at
Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and Kennedy Center and in cathedrals in
Great Britain and Italy. |

Kevin
McBeth, director of music ministries, is director of the Chancel
Choir. He has served as a choral and orchestral conductor, lecturer, clinician,
vocal soloist and has conducted honor and festival choirs in six states.
He was assistant conductor of the Cedar Rapids Concert Chorale, the Houston
Civic Symphony Orchestra and the St. Louis Symphony Chorus. He also is director
of the St. Louis Symphony In Unison Chorus. A native of Houston, he is a
graduate of Houston Baptist University. |
